Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and business/shipping address, when you buy from us, sell to us, or use our ITAD services.
Transaction information — order details, purchase history, and payment confirmation (we do not store full payment card numbers ourselves; payments are processed by our payment and marketplace partners, including eBay).
Device and asset information — for ITAD clients, information about the equipment provided to us for data destruction, recycling, or resale, including asset tags, serial numbers, and chain-of-custody records, used to generate your certificate of destruction and audit reports.
Marketplace order information — if you connect a marketplace account (such as eBay) to our internal inventory software, we access order details (buyer name, shipping address, item purchased, and order status) solely to fulfill and ship your order correctly.

How We Use Information

To fulfill orders, process payments, and arrange shipping
To provide ITAD services, including data destruction certification and compliance reporting (e.g., NIST 800-88 documentation)
To communicate with you about your order, pickup, or service request
To maintain accurate business records for accounting and compliance purposes

Data Destruction & Security

For ITAD clients, any data-bearing devices provided to us are handled according to NIST 800-88 data sanitization standards. We do not access, copy, or retain the contents of any storage media beyond what is required to verify successful destruction. Certificates of destruction are provided upon completion.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate our business — for example, with shipping carriers to deliver a package, with payment processors to complete a transaction, or with marketplaces (such as eBay) to fulfill an order placed through that platform. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Marketplace Integrations

If you are a buyer who purchased from Sterro Tech through eBay or another marketplace, that marketplace's own privacy policy also applies to your transaction. Our internal systems access only the order information necessary to prepare and ship your item, and this access can be revoked at any time through the marketplace's own account settings.

Data Retention

We retain business records, including transaction and ITAD compliance records, for as long as necessary to meet our legal, accounting, and audit obligations.

Your Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion where we are not otherwise required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
